My Way De Solzen - easy winner.
GAME WIN FOR SOLZEN
My Way de Solzen cemented his claims for next month's Ladbrokes World Hurdle with a dominant display to take the totesport.com National Spirit Hurdle in the mud at Fontwell. But trainer Alan King warned that fast ground could see the gelding bypassing the Cheltenham Festival in favour of a trip to somewhere where conditions are judged to be more suitable. And the fast-improving six-year-old might even make a quick reappearance at Haydock on Thursday alongside stablemate Crystal D'Ainay in the Rendlesham Hurdle, especially if there is further rain on the way in the coming days. Supporters of the 10-11 favourite had few anxious moments as My Way de Solzen bounded clear of the opposition in the straight in the hands of Robert Thornton. Dancing Bay looked a danger to the winner when looming up behind on the home turn but My Way de Solzen went on again when asked to quicken up and ultimately scored by nine lengths. King said: "He's a good horse but on this sort of ground he's serious. He'll go to the Ladbrokes World Hurdle if the ground is right, and if it isn't, he won't. "He's in the Rendlesham at Haydock on Thursday and he might just run again if he's well, his weight is OK and the ground is all right. "Crystal D'Ainay will run in that race too but when you have opportunities for them you have to take them otherwise we might end up waiting for Cheltenham only to have to miss it." VC Bet cut My Way De Solzen to 10-1 from 16-1 for the Ladbrokes World Hurdle, the same price as Paddy Power while totesport remained unchanged at 12-1. "If we don't go to Cheltenham then we might have to look at the French Champion Hurdle," added King. "I'm not a good traveller but he wouldn't mind it."
